Dr. Dennis Y. Kim is a double board-certified general and critical care surgeon, certified by both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Surgery. He currently serves as the Medical Director for Surgical Services at Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA), where he leads clinical programs and practices as a trauma surgeon and intensive care (ICU) physician. Dr. Kim has held academic leadership roles and authored over 180 publications in trauma and critical care, making significant contributions to the education of healthcare professionals. His work spans the full trajectory of acute illness and recovery, addressing patient needs that extend beyond a single discipline or setting.

 Alexis' expertise spans from acute care nursing to health care leadership, including clinical practice management. At Avalon Health, she leads clinic development across space design, operational infrastructure, and care model integration. Her role bridges strategic planning with hands-on coordination across medical, rehabilitative, and administrative domains, ensuring a cohesive and sustainable clinical environment.  

Lindsay Gellhaus, Ph.D., brings expertise in allied health program development, education strategy, and interdisciplinary care. As the Director of Allied Health & Programs at Avalon Health, she leads the integration of clinical programs across physiotherapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy, and mental health, collaborating closely with healthcare professionals and medical specialists. Her work focuses on building coordinated, lifestyle-informed programs that support recovery, performance, and long-term health, including essential surgical services.
