Functional recovery, brain injury and ICU pathways  ·  Independent contractor  ·  Phased start, Q3 2026

Avalon Health Clinic, a new multidisciplinary clinic planned for Greater Victoria, BC, is seeking founding Occupational Therapists to help lead functional recovery for patients in our brain injury, surgical, and ICU recovery programs, while also supporting our broader primary care population.

This is a rare opportunity to practice in a clinic where physician-led care, allied health, and rehabilitation are truly integrated under one roof.

At Avalon, we believe recovery works best when providers work together.

• Provide OT assessment and intervention across cognitive, functional, return-to-work, and day-to-day recovery pathways
• Lead the OT component of our concussion, brain injury, and ICU recovery programs
• Support patients before and after surgery with functional planning, pacing, independence strategies, and return-to-life recovery goals
• Work directly alongside family physicians, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, kinesiologists, counsellors, and other clinicians
• Help shape the Occupational Therapy model in a brand-new clinic from day one
• Contribute to a patient experience that feels coordinated, practical, and genuinely caring

You are an Occupational Therapist who cares about helping people function better in real life.

You’re comfortable with complex cases, enjoy solving practical problems, and value a whole-person approach to care. You appreciate collaboration, but can also work independently with confidence.

You may be especially energized by helping people rebuild after surgery, injury, illness, or major health events.

• Registration in good standing with the relevant BC regulatory body for Occupational Therapists under the BC Health Professions and Occupations Act
• Professional liability insurance through CAOT or equivalent
• Experience in one or more of: neurorehabilitation, post-surgical recovery, concussion, MVA recovery, return-to-work assessment, ICU recovery, community rehab, or functional restoration
• Strong communication skills and comfort working within interdisciplinary teams
• A builder mindset and excitement about helping shape something new

• Compensation: Competitive independent contractor revenue-share model with earning growth tied to caseload development, experience, and specialty expertise
• Transparent compensation pathways discussed during the interview process
• Opportunity to build a strong caseload through internal referrals across surgical recovery, rehabilitation, and primary care pathways
• Full clinic infrastructure provided, including reception, booking, EMR, billing support, and administrative systems
• Shared charting and integrated team communication with primary care and allied health providers
