Avalon Health Clinic, a new multidisciplinary clinic planned for Greater Victoria, BC, is seeking a founding  Psychiatrist to join a new interdisciplinary clinic designed around connected, modern healthcare.

This is an opportunity to practice in an environment that values thoughtful medicine, collaborative mental health care, and coordinated support for patients navigating complex psychological, psychiatric, neurological, and functional health concerns.

At Avalon, psychiatry will play an important role within our integrated care model, supporting patients through collaborative outpatient mental health care alongside primary care, counselling, rehabilitation, and allied health services.

You will work alongside family physicians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, counsellors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation clinicians within one connected system designed to improve continuity, communication, and patient experience.

• Provide consultative and longitudinal psychiatric care within a collaborative outpatient setting
• Support patients navigating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, ADHD, chronic stress, adjustment challenges, and complex mental health presentations
• Collaborate closely with family physicians, Nurse Practitioners, psychologists, counsellors, and allied health clinicians to support coordinated care planning
• Contribute expertise to Avalon’s rehabilitation and recovery pathways where mental health support is essential to recovery outcomes
• Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and collaborative care planning
• Help shape mental health workflows and systems within a growing clinic environment
• Contribute to a patient experience that feels connected, respectful, and easier to navigate 

You are a Psychiatrist who values collaborative practice, thoughtful systems, and patient-centered mental health care.

You bring strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and compassion to complex care. You appreciate autonomy while recognizing the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and integrated healthcare environments.

You may be especially interested in helping build a modern outpatient mental health model that supports continuity, accessibility, and coordinated care more effectively.

• MD with full registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, or eligibility to register
• Certification in Psychiatry with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC), or eligibility
• CMPA coverage
• Interest in collaborative outpatient psychiatry and interdisciplinary care
• Comfort with EMR systems and team-based workflows
• Strong communication skills and collaborative instincts
• Physicians at varying stages of practice are welcome to apply 

• Flexible practice structure with compensation model discussed based on practice focus and scope
• Opportunity to build consultative, longitudinal, or focused psychiatry interests within the clinic
• Administrative, scheduling, and operational support managed centrally
• Full MOA and clinic infrastructure support
