Avalon Health Clinic, a new multidisciplinary clinic planned for Greater Victoria, BC, is seeking a founding  Sports & Exercise Medicine Physician to join a new interdisciplinary clinic designed around connected, modern healthcare.

At Avalon, Sports & Exercise Medicine will play an important role across musculoskeletal care, concussion recovery, chronic pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, exercise-based recovery, and return-to-function pathways within an integrated team environment.

You will work alongside family physicians, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, kinesiologists, counsellors, massage therapists, chiropractors, and rehabilitation clinicians within one connected system designed to improve continuity, communication, and patient experience.

• Provide consultative and longitudinal sports and exercise medicine care within a collaborative outpatient setting
• Assess and manage musculoskeletal injuries, concussion, chronic pain, movement-related conditions, and functional recovery concerns
• Support patients recovering from surgery, injury, illness, and periods of physical deconditioning
• Collaborate closely with rehabilitation clinicians and primary care providers to support coordinated recovery planning
• Contribute expertise to Avalon’s brain injury and concussion, surgical recovery, and ICU recovery pathways
• Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and collaborative care planning
• Opportunity to incorporate focused interests such as exercise medicine, procedural medicine, return-to-sport, return-to-work, or active rehabilitation approaches
• Help shape sports and exercise medicine workflows and systems within a growing clinic environment
• Contribute to a patient experience that feels coordinated, motivating, respectful, and easier to navigate 

You are a Sports & Exercise Medicine Physician who values collaborative care, functional recovery, and evidence-informed medicine.

You bring strong clinical reasoning, professionalism, and a practical approach to helping patients return to meaningful activity and quality of life. You appreciate autonomy while 

recognizing the value of interdisciplinary rehabilitation and integrated healthcare environments.

You may be especially interested in helping to build a modern outpatient recovery model that more effectively supports movement, rehabilitation, prevention, and coordinated care.

• MD with full registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC, or eligibility to register
• Certification or additional training in Sports & Exercise Medicine, including CASEM eligibility/designation or equivalent experience
• CMPA coverage
• Interest in collaborative outpatient medicine and interdisciplinary rehabilitation care
• Comfort with EMR systems and team-based workflows
• Strong communication skills and collaborative instincts
• Physicians at varying stages of practice are welcome to apply
